7TH EDITION OF WECANDANCE KICKS OFF WITH 3.000 SAFARI NOMADS
On the first day of its three-day expedition in the wild, WECANDANCE welcomed a tribe of 3.000 safari nomads to discover the savanna of Zeebruges. It was the first time that the festival opened its doors on Friday. By completely selling out the first and second day, the boutique festival already broke its record at the beginning of the week-end.
WECANDANCE is determined to make its 7th edition the most memorable yet. On the first day, a selection of outstanding performances was served on 2 stages. One of the absolute highlights was the Gardens of Babylon live stage. As from tomorrow, the festival also paves the way for one extra live stage, which brings the total to six stages exploring hip hop, techno, house & disco, all-round, slow dance and live music.
Wild hearts, wild fashion
The festival takes its inspiration from the runway to come up with a specific theme. This year, the festival crowd was encouraged to release their wildest spirits, by indulging themselves completely into the safari spirits. The result? A true jungle atmosphere on the beach of Zeebruges, with all shades of beige and khaki one can think of.
Food hunt in the jungle
Next to music and fashion, food remains one of the main ingredients of the unique festival experience that is WECANDANCE. This year is no different: the Food Market and plant-based corner still have a prominent role. AirCafé makes his entrance, and will be the ultimate meeting point for quality comfort food. Next to that, the organization immersed itself into the farm-to-table movement, which offers an exquisite and even more refined food experience that is at the same time very sustainable and supports local farmers.
Journey continues on Saturday and Sunday
With a completely sold out Friday and Saturday, things are looking very good for the rest of the week-end, and so is the weather. With Sunday and combi ticket sales going through the roof, it’s the last chance to join in and take a walk on the wild side. All information available at www.wecandance.be.
