True ‘Burning Man’ sand storm experience at sold-out WECANDANCE Saturday

The second and completely sold-out day of WECANDANCE 2019, was even wilder than the first one. 18.000 festival lovers released their inner nomad and went along on a safari trip with the best beats, finest foods and most delicious drinks. The strong wind didn’t stop the crowd from having a good time, on the contrary, it turned it into an unforgettable experience with everyone fashionably dressed in true ‘Burning Man’ style.

Even though the wind was very tough, it did the crowd no harm. More than 500 crew members made sure every second of the festival was safe and sound. By sundown, the wind slowed down and we had the perfect ‘golden hour’.

Take a walk on the wild side

With the last waves beating on the sand, WECANDANCE is proud to call its Super 8 live stage a success. Today Claire Laffut and Tessa Dixson broke the silence of the sea and took all nomads on an extraordinary trip. Highlight of the day: The WECANDANCE theme song  “Walk on the wild side” by Tessa Dixson. Nomads walking the beach on Sunday can look forward to live performances of Charlotte Adigéry and Sylvie Kreusch amongst others.

Next to the live shows, our visitors could explore 5 other stages with hip hop, techno, house & disco, all-round and slow dance. The biggest musical highlights Mathew Jonson and Krystal Klear. Peggy Gou and Acid Pauli just started their sets and will close off with an exclusive festival performance, surely creating a magical starry night with her funky beats.

AIRcafé

The first opening day of AIRcafé on the festival site was a downright success. Especially for WECANDANCE 2019, Sergio Herman & Paul Morel set up camp to provide a range of extraordinary dishes and cocktails in a relaxing oasis. While enjoying the food and drinks, the crowd could lay back and listen to some downtempo balearic-infused DJ-sets.

Farm-to-Table area

This year, WECANDANCE strengthened its culinary line-up with a Farm To Table concept that is unique for the festival industry. In this way WECANDANCE wants to show the general public that cooking with local, seasonal products is very tasty, sustainable and affordable. Three dishes created by Belgian top chefs with fish, meat or vegetables are offered at the festival in the new Farm To Table corner. All ingredients come from local farmers. The brand new #Boerentrots movement is partner of this advanced food approach.

WECANBREATHE

For the very first time, WECANDANCE created an open and safe space for everybody to live out their dreams of freedom. Filled with calming décor and mats, the WECANBREATHE tent is a place to calm down and recharge with Breath Work sessions, Dynamic Meditation and an Ice Bath challenge for the bravest Nomads.

Buckle up for the last day

The third and last festival day seems very promising with good weather and big names such as Kölsch, Patrice Bäumel, Antal and Damian Lazarus. There are still some tickets available for Sunday August 11th online and at the door. People who are excited to join in for an expedition in the wild, can find all information on www.wecandance.be.

About WECANDANCE

ABOUT

WECANDANCE offers a premium beach boutique festival experience in an innovative setting, combining different lifestyle elements such as music, food, fashion and art. The festival aims to achieve that through collaborations with the right communities and partners, but also with both quality underground and more accessible music, atypical festival food and a strong eye for artistic detail, brought to you with a cutting-edge layer. Unconventionality and innovation form the triggers and tools that keep the festival fresh and on point.

#WECANDANCE

WECANDANCE likes to dig into the underground music scene to provide that raw vibe with a touch of finesse. Five stages translate five different genres, each and every one with a mix of the best homegrown and international talent. They all bring the sound of today as well as the sound of tomorrow, something WECANDANCE can vouch for.

#WECANTASTE

WECANDANCE approaches food on a different level. Their Food Market, the beating heart of the festival, offers an opportunity to eat on site, but is also an asset to attract early visitors. Since their very first edition, the festival chooses to work with multiple renowned Belgian restaurants and chefs that offer a variety of dishes. Each and everyone of them also creates a signature WECANDANCE dish to pamper our visitors’ taste buds.

The festival also likes to contribute to keeping the ecological footprint as small as possible. Using organic products and disposable tableware brings them one step closer to that goal.

#WECANDRESS

WECANDANCE is undeniably linked to apparel, which ensures a cool but more feminine touch. With that asset, they aim to continue a conversation that started at the foundation of this premium boutique festival. To give it that something extra, the festival drowns itself in a theme for the summer, creating a scene that lives not only within the festival walls.

They do not only focus on offering an inspirational platform, but also invest in a limited capsule collection of their own, created by several brands and Belgian designers.

#WECANCREATE

A fourth corner stone was added to the festival since their fourth edition in 2016. WECANDANCE invites different artists to create a bespoke installation that triggers our visitors to stop and think for a moment. By integrating art into our festival, we aim to bring a variety of creative disciplines closer to the people.
